The GRAND WINE COLLECTION (GWC) is compiled by the South African Wine Index (SAWi), which ranks wine against top tier international and local blind tasting scores, provided by 1000+ independent wine experts.

Recognized competitions include Decanter, IWC, IWCS, Global Wine Challenge, and Varietal Master, Trophy Wine Show, Michael Angelo, NWC, Top 10 Challenges, and Veritas.

All Gold award scores of 93+ points are entered by vintage year in the 10-year adjuduction cycle.

Selection depends on the compilation and qualification of judging panels, medal count, and status among wine enthusiasts, to whom the GWC caters.

Introducing 720 Platinum (95+) and Gold (93+) status wines, drawn from 6852 entries and 224 wineries, the GWC is a unique benchmark for the objective measure of wine quality.
